Senior Software Engineer (Modern Tech Stack)

In this role You will:
Innovate, develop, maintain and drive technology outcomes for the mobility & convenience businesses aligned to the global technology strategyBe part of a cross-disciplinary team, working closely with other software engineers, product management, UX design, data scientists, data analysts, product managers, data engineers, data managers, and business partners to ensure high-quality software is delivered to our clientsDesign and document sophisticated software components, services, and platformsImplement robust and maintainable code with clear and maintained documentationDeliver customer value in iterative fashion while working towards longer term systems to tackle roadmap goals with increasing efficiencyAct as a technical lead and own projects end-to-endCommunicate status and changes to the work they are responsible and accountable for, keep all collaborators informed of changes and updates to original planDesign test automation on all code implemented through unit testing and integration testingWork with internal and external teams to bring new platforms to marketMaintain and enhance software frameworks for developmentServe as a mentor for other engineers on the teamParticipate in code reviews and contribute to the development of smart ways of workingCollaborate with multi-functional teams to identify and resolve platform-related issues and implement new controls and procedures to address identified compliance gaps or risksSupport audit teams to prepare for and participate in security, software licensing, and regulatory audits, ensuring that all vital documentation and evidence is available and accurateWhat You will need to be successful:
5+ years experience in software engineering roles with a focus on platform or service engineeringProficiency in at least one programming language (C#, Python, or TypeScript, JavaScript, React Native) developing cross-platform solutions.Proficiency in writing secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defectsHigh level of proficiency in systems designSkills in software development practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operations, designing and building sophisticated software systems end-to-end which have been optimally delivered and operated in productionUnderstanding of security and privacy practices as well as how to properly supervise, log, and alarm production systemsCompetency in building and scaling infrastructure services using Amazon Web Services or Microsoft AzureUnderstanding of using core cloud application infrastructure services including identity platforms, networking, storage, databases, containers, and serverlessKnowledge of SQL, data modeling, databases, such as relational, graph, document, and key-valueAbility to adapt to new technologies and processes, and be able to work independently and as part of a teamProblem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sophisticated problems, identify root causes and develop creative and effective solutionsExcellent communication skills and ability to communicate with your peers through to senior leaders.Ability to engage and influence others to collect requirements, describe what you’re doing, work through problems, and find productive solutionsProficiency in English language – German is an advantageAt bp, we provide the following environment & benefits to you:
