**Key Responsibilities**
+ Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems with a focus on AI and agent/chatbot technologies.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and drive innovation in digital operations.
+ Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to deployment and support.
+ Take part in on-call rotations to ensure high availability and reliability of our services.
+ Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and mentor other engineers.
+ Work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
**Basic Qualifications**
+ 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development.
+ Recent (last 6-12 months) hands-on experience in AI or chatbot development.
+ Experience shipping code as part of a team in a production environment.
+ Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and scalable backend architectures.
+ Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills.
+ Based in Lisbon, with the ability to work remotely in Portugal after 20 days.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with LangGraph (strong plus, as it’s foundational to our AI/agent work).
+ Experience with Elixir for backend development.
+ Background as a Backend Engineer with AI experience, or as a Machine Learning Engineer with product development experience.
+ Experience working in SaaS or cloud-based environments.
+ Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
+ Experience mentoring or leading other engineers.
