Department OverviewEmergency Call Handling is the critical interface for the citizen into the command center, public safety workflow. Motorola Solution’s is the leading software developer and solution provider for Emergency Call Handling, the software that enables 911 centers to receive and process calls in Public Safety Answering Points across North America. The Emergency Call Handling solution team is one business sleeve of the Motorola Solutions Software Enterprise where innovation of workflow enhancements are being developed for call handling, incident management, responder dispatching and situational awareness. This software developer position will be a member of the team working on software applications for Public Safety Agencies.
Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Emergency Call Handling team in Brazil, you will contribute to extending capabilities of our mission critical platform and  enhancing the existing technologies we use.

The VESTA Analytics team is responsible for end-to-end software development including: maintenance, design, implementation, testing and delivery. We work in well balanced agile teams with a full range of software development experience and the embedded mindset of DevOps culture and continuous delivery approach.


Basic Requirements

At least 5 years experience with C# for backend development

At least 5 years of experience with SQL, preferably MS SQL Server

Experience with Angular for frontend development

Practical knowledge about REST APIs

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math or related fields

English language skills allowing for efficient communication with our peers and customers in North America

Participates as leader from the technical or managerial point of view. Focused not only on daily activities, but looking beyond helping to organize work and planning for the team. Engages themself in complex tasks and defining, maintaining architecture for the team. Works without supervision from other members of the team. Impact on the team is strong and visible, as well impact on the product and department. Their activity should mostly impact project and department level.

Must have:

Experience with C# and .Net Framework

Practical experience with relational databases

Strong SQL experience, preferably Microsoft SQL Server

Experience with building, debugging and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures

Cloud experience with AWS or Azure

Development of RESTful APIs

Automated testing experience

Observability and monitoring experience

Could have:

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for reporting and custom reports

Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) data warehouse for statistical reporting

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL processing

Angular framework

Understanding of data warehousing principles and data modeling

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience with BI tools and concepts

CI/CD
