**Role:**
Splunk is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Automation and Configuration Management (ACM) team. ACM is responsible for maintaining and improving an automated platform that enables internal and external customers to easily manage Splunk Enterprise Cloud (SEC) environments. As a technical leader on the team, you will maintain and improve Splunk's SaaS infrastructure, monitor system stability, investigate and solve complex problems, maintain software across multiple cloud providers, and manage cloud server/storage deployments. **Experience Required:**
+ Software development and data structures/algorithms. You will use languages like Go and Ruby, and interact with other services via RESTful APIs.
+ Cloud and container experience. You will build and scale secure services on different cloud providers.
+ Infrastructure or configuration management as code experience. You should be familiar with some sort of configuration management tool or infrastructure as code, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc.
+ Unix/Linux. You will use the command line terminal frequently.
+ Problem Solving. You are able to fix a product outage, identify performance bottlenecks, spot anomalous system behavior, and determine the root cause of incidents.
+ Technical excellence. You know continuous delivery, testing, security practices, performance, and disaster recovery.
+ Scalable system design. You will have the opportunity to design scalable services and solutions that make it easier for internal and external customers to manage Splunk Cloud infrastructure.
+ Technical leadership. You will provide technical guidance and mentorship on your team. You will collaborate with various leaders in the organization and represent your team on large projects.
+ You have experience or an interest in working with regulated computing environments such as FISMA and/or FedRAMP and are enthusiastic about doing it better.
+ You must be a US Citizen working on US soil to be considered.
**Nice to haves:**
+ Kubernetes experience. Working in Kubernetes systems with experience in kubectl and Docker containers.
+ Distributed programming. Experience with distributed databases, distributed file systems, distributed concurrency control, consistency models, and CAP theorem.
+ AWS. Knowledge of Amazon EC2, including image management and storage, cross-region functionality, and high availability (HA) strategies.
+ GCP and/or Azure. Knowledge of similar concepts in these cloud providers.
+ Python and/or Bash scripting

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. + Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. **Compensation Range:** $139,800.00 - 192,000.00 per year
