GDIT is seeking a highly motivated Software Developer Senior to join our growing team to develop, support, and modernize mission-critical applications for our DHS customer.  Our work depends on a Software Developer Senior joining our team to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applications and to work proactively, collaboratively, and with an entrepreneurial spirit in providing O&M support (in the form of developmental engineering) to the customer and their Stakeholder communities in achieving their critical missions.

HOW A SOFTWARE DEVELOPER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications softwareEmploys experience with C++ and Java, test-driven development, and Scrum/agile project lifecycle approach to develop, deploy, and maintain mission-critical applicationsProvides support and technical advice during conceptualization, development, and implementation phases to transform requirements into working solutionsEngages with clients/users to define system scope and objectivesWorks on new development and re-engineering efforts, including making or contributing to system design decisionsImplements enhancements to existing system and coordinates with other developers working in parallelProvides software development services on all tiers (UI, Java, C++, Oracle)Performs database programming using SQLPerforms software QA/testing as needed


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, or equivalent experience

Required Experience: 3+ years of software development experience

Required Technical Skills:

Experience with Java, C#, C++, and/or GolangExperience with Agile development methodology, SCRUM, and test-driven development

Security Clearance Level: Public Trust (DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability)


Required Skills and Abilities:

Adept at problem-solving, troubleshooting, collaboration, time management, multi-tasking, and task-ownershipExcellent communication skills

Preferred Skills:

8+ years of relevant experienceTechnical training, certification(s), or degree specifically in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related technical discipline

The likely salary range for this position is $113,645 - $153,755. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
