What Is the Opportunity?

The Digital Technology Operations team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to convert paper processes to digital. In this role you will be responsible for building out our API economy for many capabilities. The role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according on time.

What Will You Do?

Write highly scalable, high performance, maintainable and reusable services

Apply design patterns, coding standards, and best practices to produce secure, reliable, reusable and scalable code

Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner. 

Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks.  Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate

Develop and execute on end to end change management plans and plan and execute all communication related to these.

Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.

Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Must Have:

4 years + development experience in Java 17+ utilizing the Spring Boot framework.

Advanced knowledge of Web API and Microservices application development experience with JSON, XML, SOAP/REST 

Experience working in a continuous integration/delivery setting (DevOps)

Experience with Cloud platforms and technologies (OpenShift, Kubernetes, S3 Object Storage)

Experience working with RESTful APIs and interface specifications (Swagger/OpenAPI).

Experience supporting production-level software and using monitoring tools (Splunk, Dynatrace).

Nice-to Have:

Experience with Camunda Platform

Experience in JavaScript and groovy scripting

Knowledge of other correlated technologies such as Kafka, GraphQL, ELK Stack, Splunk.

Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses

Achieving code test coverage using frameworks like Mockito, WireMock, etc.
