Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of Social Baseline Studies (SBS) and Social Impact Assessments (SIA) in line with international standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESF).

Develop and implement Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEPs), ensuring inclusive and culturally appropriate consultation processes.

Conduct socioeconomic profiling, market assessments, and vulnerability analyses to inform project planning and risk mitigation.

Prepare and review social due diligence reports, audits, and compliance reviews for public and private sector clients.

Design and monitor Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) and Livelihood Restoration Programs (LRPs), ensuring alignment with best practices and client requirements.

Support the development and implementation of Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) frameworks for social performance, including KPIs and reporting mechanisms.

Design and implementation of social management systems for private sector projects

Public consultation, stakeholder engagement and grievance management

Monitoring and evaluation of stakeholder engagement, community health and safety, local employment.

Qualifications\:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Development Studies, Sociology, Economics, Gender Studies, or a related discipline.

Relevant experience in the following\:

Social impact and risk assessment and management and E&S Due Diligence of large projects in accordance with the World Bank and/ or IFC standards and acting on behalf of the Lenders.

Labor rights and working conditions, as defined by IFC Performance Standard 2 and related guidance.

Contractor management.

Grievance management and conflict resolution.

Human rights, notably related to gender.

Experience working on IFC, World Bank, EBRD, or other donor-funded projects.

Demonstrated expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, stakeholder engagement, and social risk analysis.

Strong understanding of international social safeguards, ESG frameworks, and regulatory compliance.

Excellent report writing and communication skills in English and Arabic.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, NVivo, KoboToolbox) is a plus.
