Senior SOC Analyst / Shift Lead

You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with experienced Aviva teams across Canada, Ireland, the UK, and India, and contribute directly to reducing risk and enhancing security across the enterprise. 

What will you be doing?

Operate within a 24/7/365 Global SOC (12-hour shifts) 

Triage and investigate security alerts, conduct deep investigations, and take remediation actions 

Responding and driving the resolution of cyber security incidents, including performing containment and eradication activities 

Recommend and support fine-tuning of detection rules 

Participate in internal security projects aligned with Aviva’s business needs 

Coordinate shift activities, ensuring high-quality investigations and risk assessments 

Mentor and train team members in cybersecurity tools, techniques, and incident response 

Maintain and improve GSOC documentation, including playbooks and SOPs 

Support other tasks as requested by the GSOC Manager 

What we’re looking for:

3–5+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations, incident response, threat hunting, or cyber incident management 

Strong practical knowledge of security tools (SIEM, EDR, NIDS, VMS, Firewall, IPS/IDS etc.) 

Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud services 

Deep understanding of current threat landscapes and a passion for continuous learning 

Experience in triaging incidents using endpoint detection and response tools 

Strong analytical and decision-making skills 

Ability to assess risk holistically and provide actionable recommendations 

Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities 

Experience in technical team coordination is a plus
