Job Description

The Role

The Wholesale Data Domain team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Snowflake Data Engineer. This role will be instrumental in designing, building, and optimizing scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines and Snowflake-based solutions that align with our enterprise data strategy. The engineer will work closely with wholesale business unit teams and stakeholder across the organization to deliver governed, reusable data products that support advanced analytics and improve operational efficiency across wholesale business lines.

Primary Responsibilities

Architect and implement scalable, secure data pipelines using advanced Snowflake features such as Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe, and Dynamic Tables.Design and implement data pipelines that support both traditional analytics and machine learning workflows and integrate ML Ops into the existing data platform framework.Design and implement scalable, efficient data models tailored for analytics and reporting.Define and manage data product schemas, relationships, and metadata in Snowflake.Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like dbt, Apache Airflow, Spark, or Snowpipe.Develop complex data transformation logic using SQL or Python, including user-defined functions and stored procedures.Lead the implementation of data governance and security frameworks, including RBAC, SSO integration, and audit logging.Ensure data quality and oversight by implementing profiling, lineage tracking, reconciliation, and alerting mechanisms.Collaborate with data product owners, analysts, platform teams and other stakeholders to deliver governed, reusable data products aligned with enterprise data strategy.Contribute to FinOps and cost transparency efforts by monitoring warehouse usage, tagging resources, and optimizing compute spend.Stay current with Snowflake innovations and advocate for adoption of new features that enhance platform capabilities and business value.Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of statistical and/or data analytics experiencePreferred Skills/ExperienceEight or more years of relevant data engineering experience.Two or more years of hands-on experience with Snowflake data engineering.Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Snowflake certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core or Advanced Architect).Experience with AWS and/or Azure.Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact data solutions.Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small teams.Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) and familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks.Location ExpectationsThis role is hybrid. Team members who are in a hybrid role typically spend three days a week at the listed U.S. Bank location(s), while having flexibility on their work location for the other working days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00
