You Are:

We're seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to lead automation and infrastructure modernization efforts. This role demands technical expertise in DevOps tools and AWS services, paired with strong leadership and ownership capabilities.

 

The Opportunity:

·       Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, enabling fast, safe delivery of code.

·       Design and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, incorporating best practices for scalability and modularity.

·       Deploy and manage containerized workloads in Amazon EKS, using Helm for configuration and lifecycle management.

·       Architect and maintain core AWS services including IAM, VPC, security groups, subnets, and role-based access control.

·       Monitor system performance, availability, and scalability using SRE practices.

·       Champion infrastructure reliability and security standards across the engineering organization.

·       Drive documentation and knowledge sharing around tooling, standards, and workflows.

What You Need:

·       5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering.

·       Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

·       Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.

·       Deep understanding of Helm charts and Kubernetes workloads, especially on EKS.

·       Solid grasp of AWS core services like IAM, networking, compute, and storage.

·       Experience building fault-tolerant, highly available cloud-native systems.

·       Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) and familiarity with version control (Git).

·       Ability to lead technical discussions and drive decision-making across teams.

·       Preferred Traits:

o   Self-motivated with a proactive problem-solving mindset.

o   Strong communication and leadership skills.

o   Experience managing large-scale migrations or re-platforming projects.

o   Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

o   Bonus Points: Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer); Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Washington

Compensation Range: $78,000-$117,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
