**Description** Tyto Athene is searching for a **Senior Site Reliability Engineer** to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.Positions are located both CONUS/OCONUS at the SOUTHCOM HQ in Doral, FL, and at the TSOC and other locations abroad (GTMO, Honduras, Colombia etc.). The Senior Site Reliability Engineer leads and optimizes reliability, scalability, and performance for the Task Order (TO) in support of USSOUTHCOM. This role combines software engineering and systems engineering practices to automate operations and resolve complex production issues. **Responsibilities:** + Applies engineering principles to operations, identifies potential risks, and implements solutions that support mission-critical services + Leverages operational telemetry, automation, and incident management strategies to minimize downtime, enhance system performance, and improve user satisfaction + Manages system reliability, availability, and scalability for critical infrastructure and services. Drives initiatives to enhance performance and reduce operational risk through automation and process optimization + Monitors and analyzes system metrics to identify performance bottlenecks and applies solutions effectively + Collects and interprets telemetry data to detect service degradations or failures. Leads efforts to resolve incidents quickly, minimizing impact on users and mission-critical operations + Investigates incident trends to address root causes and prevent recurrence. Implements strategies to anticipate and mitigate potential system risks or outages before they occur + Develops and applies robust testing frameworks to validate system resilience under various conditions + Recommends and executes design changes to strengthen infrastructure reliability + Automates routine tasks to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability + Recommends and deploys enhancements to existing processes and systems to deliver ongoing improvements + Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align system reliability goals with mission objectives + Communicates complex technical issues clearly to leadership and teams to facilitate rapid resolution and alignment. **Qualifications** **Required:** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field + 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Roles + Expertise with containerization and orchestration technologies + Strong scripting and automation experience + Experience with cloud platforms + Proficient in infrastructure as code tools + Deep understanding of Linux and or Windows server administration **Desired:** + Master’s degree in related field + Experience supporting DoD or federal environements with classified systems + Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and conditional access policies + Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and data replication strategies + Experience with Chaos Engineering and automated failure testing + Microsoft Certified Azure DevOps Engineer Expert + ITIL v4 Foundations or higher **Clearance:** + Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI **Certification:** + DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role + CompTIA Security+ CISSP or CASP **Location:** + Doral, Florida **About Tyto Athene** **Compensation:** + Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
