About you and this role
You will have overall responsibility and accountability for the plant logistics assets, personnel and achievement of the plant related business goals. The role delivers plant based business and administrative leadership to an empowered, work process driven, plant logistics organization. The Senior Site Logistics Leader serves in a vital role for Logistics, utilizing process knowledge, technical expertise, and logistics and/or operations experience to troubleshoot and correct process or equipment issues, which improves performance and reliability for multiple transportation modes, as well as assist, teach and coach plant personnel. Works with key partners to optimize operations on a regular basis. Assists business/functional clients by leading/participating in improvement initiatives and supporting crisis management. This role requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, and processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience.
In this role, you will lead one or more teams of professionals and/or first-line leaders of operational support employees. You will need to have knowledge of the business operations of your discipline or functional area. You will need to fully understand these business operations and how teams work together to achieve operational objectives. You should be able to guide and persuade others, both internally and externally, to adopt a different point of view.
It is your responsibility to be able to identify technical and operational problems and recognize and understand broader impacts across multiple teams within your discipline or functional area. You will need to be able to lead one or more similar teams of professional individual contributors within your discipline. You also may lead teams of technical operations, business operations, or operational support employees who may or may not have supervisors. You will set priorities and allocate resources to align with business objectives and plans of execution. Your work is guided by policies and departmental plan and your performance impacts your team’s ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives.
Responsibilities:
+ Provides leadership and support through daily actions, coaching and guidance to the plant logistics team and individuals
+ Translates and communicates the business strategy and objectives to the plant personnel
+ Provides coaching and expectations for the personnel participating in the plant goal and budget setting process
+ Challenges teams and individuals to set, monitor and achieve goals aligned to the business and site strategies and goals
+ Ensures implementation and ongoing effectiveness of global work processes, operating discipline, management systems, enabling technologies and roles
+ Ensures necessary resources are in place to meet site logistics requirements and achieve the plant specific business goals
+ Ensures that systems are in place to meet the customer requirements for packaging and shipping of products
+ Provides administrative leadership and coaching to site logistics personnel. (i.e. role clarity, expectations, compensation, employee development, deployment, recognition systems, etc.)
+ Utilizes logistics and/or operations knowledge, technical expertise, and experience to assist in correcting process or equipment issues which improve process performance and reliability
+ Adds value to logistics work processes by participating in process business/functional improvement efforts
+ Performs or assists in process related root cause or failure analysis and leverages and communicates the results to operate site logistics personnel for learning purposes
Qualifications
+ Required education: Bachelor Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related other Sciences;
+ 5+ years of experience in a Supply Chain and Manufacturing Environment including people leadership experience;
