How You'll Make Your Mark:

As a Signal Integrity Engineer, you will play a critical role as a technical contributor within a Networking Platform Design Team, focusing on the design and validation of signal integrity solutions for high-end LAN products. Your primary responsibilities will encompass the design and verification of signal and power integrity solutions for system-level high-speed communication interfaces, power distribution networks, high-precision timing, and general-purpose I/O in enterprise networking products.

Your responsibilities will include providing robust and cost-effective signal integrity solutions, performing signal integrity analysis, simulations, design of experiments and verification using state-of-the-art tools and methods. You will also be tasked with researching and developing innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs, including filing patents and enabling next-generation technologies. Additionally, you will engage in interconnect and power distribution network (PDN) modeling, simulations & analysis, generating PCB stack-ups and design rules, and ensuring that designs meet both design rules and industry specifications. Conducting lab measurements and verifying the performance of advanced designs will also be part of your typical duties.

You will proactively identify and resolve Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) issues to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products. In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues, provide mentorship, and serve as a technical resource to other contributors. As a dedicated team player, you will take full ownership of all aspects of your assigned areas. You will independently plan and schedule your work to meet goals and deliverables with minimal supervision.

About You:

Holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required, with a preference for candidates possessing an MS or PhD.A minimum of three years of professional experience in the field of Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) is required.Proven experience in product system board design, Signal Integrity and Power Integrity analysis, development of SI simulation methodologies, and conducting lab validation and correlation with simulation results.

Knowledge and Skills:

Solid understanding of electromagnetic theory and signal integrity fundamentals such as: transmission line effects, reflections, crosstalk, insertion/return loss, ground bounce, termination techniques, and high-speed differential signaling.Strong knowledge and technical expertise in both digital and analog circuit design. Proficient in time and frequency domain channel analysis for diagnosing signal integrity issues, with a comprehensive understanding of jitter sources and noise reduction techniques.Expertise in signal and power integrity for various high-speed interconnects, including but not limited to Ethernet SerDes, PCIe, DDR4/5, and USB.Demonstrated expertise in PCB stack-up design, with a solid understanding of fabrication limitations and cost trade-offs.Proficient in using Signal Integrity Simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, Sigrity, and Siwave.Well-versed in various Signal Integrity measurement methodologies, with hands-on experience using laboratory equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR), and both real-time and sampling oscilloscopes.Familiarity with the PAM4 signaling scheme is considered an advantage.

Additional abilities:

Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in team environments as well as independently, making autonomous decisions when necessary. Demonstrated experience as a team player, with a willingness to undertake a variety of projects.Proven ability to build relationships across various functions, coupled with strong self-motivation and effective listening skills, which are essential for activities such as team training and knowledge transfer.Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the capability to read, comprehend, and explain engineering drawings and technical documents.
