Position Summary

This position requires an individual to work with limited supervision in all aspects of the shipping process, from managing the Finished Goods warehouse to processing, and in some  cases assuming the point role,  R & D and international shipments. Individual must monitor daily scheduled shipments, coordinate the pick-up with selected shipper, noting and alerting responsible parties of inventory discretions, credit holds, special documentation and packaging requirements as dictated by the available documentation. Employee relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.  Additionally, this position requires mentorship of new hires and existing personnel that may require creation of training documents and subsequent presentation of said material. 

Principal Responsibilities

•    Initiating TOs to begin shipping process.
•    Receives and unpacks materials and supplies, distributes accordingly.
•    Review paperwork for special requirements or instructions and conduct accordingly.
•    May be asked to complete shipping reports. 
•    This position is the principal back-up to the shipping supervisor.
•    Verifies label quantities to actual product and FG displayed in SAP. 
•    Verifies packaging, labeling, bagging, boxing and shipment are according to required specifications and     applicable work instructions.
•    Complete and process all essential paperwork, routers, RFS’s, stickers, etc., according to individual job.
•    Expedite all shipments.
•    Schedules pick-ups with UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc. as required.
•    May be asked to order product or supplies as needed
•    Maintain, clean and organized work area as needed.
•    Provide and recommend ideas and suggestions in the areas of proficiency and efficiency.
•    Assist in other areas as needed.
•    Working with outside representatives, including Corporate Customer Care, Freight Forwarders, Shipping Vendors, Corporate Accounting, Sales, and customers, as directed, and in concert with Engineering and inside Customer Care, as the point person for all logistic concerns.
•    May be asked to mentor and/or train new hires in all aspects of the shipping process and provide support for sister locations.
•    Develop new shipping processes and associated documentation. Prepare updates and ECOs as required for existing processes.
•    Identify and lead process improvements and cost savings initiatives within the department. 
•    Subject Matter Expert for International shipments.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    High school diploma or GED with 5 years of work-related experience.
•    Detail oriented and with an emphasis on efficiency, accuracy and communication.
•    Must be able to complete entire process of job in a timely manner.
•    Possess the ability to work independently and in a group setting.
•    Must be able to work under limited supervision.
•    Must be able to read and follow detailed instructions.
•    Strong computer skills with full understanding of SAP shipping module.
•    The ability to work overtime, including the weekends as required.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
•    Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization.
•    Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
•    Must be able to work with others as part of a team to meet company shipment goals.

 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $48,600.00 - $68,000.00  however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. 

  

If hired, the employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
