**Senior Service Specialist Houston (hybrid - onsite and field)**

**_Peerless Pump, an Indianapolis based subsidiary of Grundfos_** , is seeking an experienced **Pump Service Specialist** to join its Pump Service Team.
The **Senior Service Specialist** is responsible for field service applications, system diagnostics, pump commissioning, advanced technical support, quoting and other solutions/service-related functions. Utilizes advanced knowledge of Peerless product solutions and expertise to meet customer needs; knowledgeable on all product applications. Travels to customer locations to understand solution requirements and provide technical expertise as needed.

**What is the job about?**
**_Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:_**
+ Provide technical expertise to end-users.
+ Provide pump start up, supervised start-up, commissioning, and re-commissioning services to end users and sales channel partners.
+ Provide system diagnostics, analysis and recommendations as required by customers.
+ Develop quotations and associated technical documents to customers.
+ Read and understand customer specifications.
+ Review specifications and determine all technical requirements, including equipment sizing, costing, additions, flange dimensions.
+ Develop service solutions detailing pricing, delivery schedule, preliminary design information, exceptions quoted to customer specifications.
+ Perform field diagnostic service such as laser alignment and vibration analysis.
+ Provide training to end users as required by contractual agreements.
+ Play a key role in the development, creation and production of Service training programs.
+ Responsible for field sales and account management functions to fulfill customer pump and system service requirements.
+ Develops monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales plans with goals and strategies to accomplish sales targets
+ Call on customers within assigned geographical and/or market area; promote acceptance of the company’s products and services.
+ Expands customer base in assigned territory.
+ Technically qualified in selection of equipment and scopes of service work without written specifications.
+ Performs troubleshooting and emergency call outs as may be required; assists with equipment start up and training as may be necessary.
+ Document service visits with written trip reports & visual evidence as necessary.

**_Working conditions:_**
The Senior Service Specialist is responsible for generating profitable Service sales, including all principal duties and responsibilities indicated below. The SSM must increase market share within professional end-user markets focusing on specific accounts and industries; management of accounts to secure and preserve long term relationships, and report specific business, market, and industry information. Responsible for field service applications, system diagnostics, pump commissioning, advanced technical support and other solutions/service-related functions. Utilizes advanced knowledge of Peerless product solutions and expertise to meet customer needs; knowledgeable on all product applications. Travels to customer locations to understand solution requirements and provide technical expertise as needed.
**What do you need to apply?**
**_We imagine you have:_**
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical subject *much preferred
+ 5+ years relevant sales/commercial/technical experience considered in lieu of technical degree.
+ Proven success in sales, preferably centrifugal and vertical turbine pumps or other rotating equipment.
+ Must possess the ability to make decisions and sound judgment.
+ Must exhibit good interpersonal skills with customers and plant personnel when group efforts are required to meet customer’s requirements.
+ Highly organized and focused on meeting goals and objectives, manage multiple priorities, and capable of working independently with a high degree of accuracy.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective communicator who possess the ability to engage two-way communication.
+ Must be able to travel, have a valid driver’s license and be able to fly when necessary.
**_Competencies:_**
+ The personal skills, qualities, behaviors, and attributes required to perform the job effectively.
+ Working knowledge of computers and PC software, Microsoft Office.
+ Must have a working knowledge of pumps, pump hydraulics, pump systems, controls or rotating equipment; and all aspects of operation, installation and maintenance.
+ Knowledgeable with API610 and 611. Preferably API612, 613, 617, and 682
+ Product knowledge and experience with hydraulics and pumping systems to a very high level are also required.
+ Must have the competencies to adapt and succeed in a changing environment.
+ Customer focused with high level of integrity.
