The Group Investment Management (GIM) division is responsible for managing the proprietary Munich Re and ERGO investment portfolio of around €250bn. The asset manager selection team is responsible for selecting, steering and monitoring all internal and external asset managers across Munich Re Group.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Selection Manager to further enhance our asset manager selection, steering and monitoring framework and thus contribute to generating sustainable outperformance and improving Munich Re Group’s investment result.
Your Job
Selecting, steering and monitoring of asset managers across asset classes with a focus on Emerging Market Debt and Direct LendingPerform in-depth analysis of investment strategies Drive RfP processes, conduct Due Diligences and onboard new asset managersSteer asset managers so their strategy fits into the overall investment portfolioAnalyze and monitor investment performanceBacktesting and further developing our internal asset manager selection model Implementing an Asset Manager Monitoring and Steering ToolAnalyzing strategies from various asset managers in the portfolio contextRegularly preparing and presenting own comprehensive analysis and investment recommendations to senior management
Your Profile
Successfully completed studies with a quantitative orientation, preferably a university degree in mathematics, economics, finance or equivalent - additional qualification (CFA, CAIA or other) beneficialSeveral years of (international) work experience in an Asset Manager Selection unit or in an institutional multi-asset investment team Experience with selecting, monitoring and steering asset managers preferably across asset classes with a focus on Fixed Income (Developed + Emerging Markets) and private markets (Direct Lending)In-depth understanding of factors that are important for selecting asset managers and strategies that fit well into an institutional investment portfolio with the ability to test their predictability of future returnsStrong foundation in portfolio theory and data analysisOutstanding analytical and problem solving skills with a self-dependent and results-oriented working styleStrong project management and presentation skills, with fluency in EnglishStrong collaboration abilities (internally, externally and intercultural)Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications as well as manager selection tools and systems such as Bloomberg, eVestment, StepStone and others.
