Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) is focused on discovering and tracking threats to customers. Create a more secure environment through the Secure Future Initiative. MSTIC focuses on reducing global harm and protecting Microsoft and its customers using threat intelligence.
The mission of the MSTIC team is to make Microsoft threat intelligence the first place for authoritative, high-quality knowledge on threats. The MSTIC team provides context on the threats that impact customers and owns the single voice of threat intelligence for Microsoft through a central content source. The MSTIC team supports customer-facing services with threat intelligence fusion and customer-ready content. The team also supports the Microsoft Defender for Threat intelligence library content and public-facing content in the Microsoft Threat Intelligence blog. We are looking for a **Senior Security Researcher** with experience managing technical cross-team cyber security programs.

**Responsibilities**
As a Senior Security Researcher, you will:
+ Define and manage cyber threat intelligence initiatives to improve research and tooling in support of intelligence analysis and production.
+ Lead cross-functional collaboration with research, product, AI, and engineering teams to prioritize technical solutions supporting threat intelligence delivery.
+ Analyze issues using multiple data sources to develop insights and support production and delivery of threat intelligence for consumers across Microsoft.
+ Drive prioritization and task management of intelligence operations projects across all analysis teams.
+ Use subject matter expertise to inform threat intelligence delivery strategy and threat intelligence-related AI and automation use cases.
+ Translate tactical and operational consumer needs into requirements for product and engineering teams.
+ Lead efforts to structure, curate, and standardize data sources to support global threat intelligence teams.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
+ OR 5+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection.
+ 2+ years of experience in threat intelligence.
+ 2+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, product development.
**Other Requirements:**
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
+ This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
+ OR 6+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection.
+ Experience querying large data sets via Kusto Query Language (KQL), python, or other similar query languages.
+ Experience developing dashboards and reporting on top of large data sets.
Security Research IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
