Overview

The Team Leader in Security serves as a resource for team members; performs departmental work assignments, acts as process-owner/technical expert for Security; provide guidance to less experienced security offers. Performs other duties as assigned.

To bolster safety and security for our patients and team members, Sentara has implemented a Fit for Duty assessment to ensure that our officers meet a minimum standard of fitness.
• The four-part assessment includes a response walk, a stair climb, a drag to safety and a lift.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification/Licensure

Valid Drivers License with an acceptable driving recordCertified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) certification by International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) must be successfully obtained within 90 days of hire.

Experience

One year of security experience; Former military, law enforcement, or security officer experience preferred; De-escalation and Physical Intervention training completed within 180 days of hire.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$17.31 - $28.85. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
