Job Description SummaryIn this role, you will be working closely with software development scrum teams to help guide them in Agile/Scrum practices. The Scrum Master does everything possible as a servant-leader to help the team perform at its highest level. This involves removing any impediments to progress, facilitating meetings, training in advanced concepts, and working with the product owner to make sure the product backlog is in good shape and ready for the next sprint.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:Coach teams on Agile and Scrum practices to improve software deliveryRemove obstacles that are impeding the team’s progressAssessing the Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturitySchedule and facilitate Scrum ceremoniesHelp the development team reach consensus on what can be achieved during a specific time periodProtect the development team from outside distractionsWork with product owners and product managers to make sure the team is working on the right prioritiesKeep up to date with the latest in agile/scrum practices, including scaling, and bring that information to the team to be implementedReporting out team metrics to leadership and stakeholdersQualifications/Requirements:Must be Scrum certifiedExperience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least (5) years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theoryKnowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques in the Scrum approach (example: numerous burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)Strong communication skillsStrong coaching abilitiesStrong conflict resolution skillsDesired Characteristics:Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least (5) years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theoryAwareness and experience with a wide variety of Agile practices: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games, etc.Understanding/experience of the Power industryKnowledge of Scaled Agile frameworksExperience working with multiple teams simultaneouslyDriven by a clear focus on the Manifesto and the PrinciplesExperience recognizing and dealing with antipatternsComfortable with challenging the status quo to deliver business value outcomes over just managing outputFamiliarity with Microservices and modern software architecturesUnderstands what it means to have an empowered team and has experience coaching towards thatExpert at creating backlogs including writing, prioritizing, estimating, and sizing user-centered storiesStory mapping experienceExperience with Release PlanningAdditional Information
