Senior Scientist (Structural Biology) cryo-EM (m/f/d) 

 


Your tasks and responsibilities

You will plan and conduct single-particle analysis (SPA) cryo-EM studies to elucidate structures of biomolecules relevant to drug discoveryYou will prepare cryo-EM samples and collect, analyze, and interpret cryo-EM datasetsYou will interpret structures of biological macromolecules to communicate biological and chemical modes of action to project teamsYou will coordinate external structural biology support for research projects, ensuring timely delivery of results and alignment with project requirementsYou will collaborate in interdisciplinary teams from structural biology, protein technologies, high throughput screening, and medicinal/computational chemistry within and outside the organizationYou will mentor and train peers and junior scientists in cryo-EM workstreamsYou will stay current with advancements in cryo-EM technology and methodologies, integrating new techniques into ongoing projects

 

Who you are

You have a Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Cell Biology, or a related fieldYou bring a hands-on expertise in cryo-EM, including sample preparation, data collection, data analysis, and structure determinationYou have a background in protein expression, purification, and characterization techniquesYou gained experience with other structural biology techniques such as X-ray crystallography and/or nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopyYou possess experience using computational methods for predicting biomolecular complexes and protein design is a plusYou have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a mission focused, multidisciplinary environmentYou show a high level of motivation, commitment and sense of ownershipStrong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex data is part of your professional personalityYou are proficient in English (spoken and written); basic knowledge of German is a plus
