We are looking for a Senior Scientist who is passionate and innovative to join us in our DMPK group based in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
As a Senior Scientist in the ADME group you will play a critical role in all aspects of ADME covering multiple modalities across drug discovery and development.
Who you’ll work with
You will be an expert in your field and will work closely with colleagues in quantitative pharmacology, chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, and other parts of DMPK organization.
What you’ll do
Independently designing and executing ADME studies, analyzing and interpreting data, and presenting findings back to project teams.Recommending and leading new strategies within ADME to develop and implement state-of-the-art technologies in the field of ADME.Applying your understanding of physical properties, DMPK and enzymology to input into the design of new compounds in a matrix project environment.Supporting the department's leadership team in both the strategic vision and the efficient running of the ADME group in Braine, BE.Providing disciplinary scientific leadership and present work through patents, publications and lectures and building strong collaborations inside and outside UCB.Increasing ADME/DMPK visibility (internally & externally) by demonstrating scientific excellence and credibility, representing UCB in conferences, act as committee member on external scientific boards and organizations and engage in collaborations with academic institutions.Interacting with and influence key collaborators/stakeholders and leaders across the science organization to progress the UCB pipeline.Contributing to regulatory document submissions.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
PhD (or equivalent) in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Drug metabolism or related disciplines.Experience in the pharma or CRO industry with hands on experience of ADME activities in drug discovery support. This will include routine and mechanistic investigations to support the understanding of the clearance and disposition of new drugs.Knowledge of the range of ADME and analytical methods available to drug projects.Be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate and influence in a multidisciplinary team.Have a good appreciation of other disciplines including chemistry, biology, clinical pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences.Publication and presentation record.
