ROLE AND DEPARTMENT

We are looking for a Dangerous Goods Senior Scientist to join the DG/SDS Global Service in Monaco R&D.

Reporting to Senior Manager DG/SDS, you will be responsible of transport classification and Safety data sheet creation in all requested languages and geographies for all cosmetic compositions manufactured at Coty plants or contractors

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

In this role you will be responsible for:

Providing accurate Dangerous Goods classification for all cosmetic compositions manufactured at Coty plans and contractors. Creating Safety Data Sheet in all requested languages and geographies Maintaining all SDS documents and data on the global SDS online share-point to enable access for global customers Providing regular extracts of Dangerous Good data and flammable solvent, VOC data to cooperate with the central SAP data governance (GMM) Completing regular exams to renew certificates for the following regulations: IATA/ICAO, IMDG, ADR. Respecting timing for DG/SDS issuing Collaborating with GMM, Logistics, HSE, R&D teams Insuring technical support for maintenance of ChemGes and relation with vendor Point of contact for all inquiries from global customers regarding DG classification of finished products, intermediates and raw materials. Category SPOC for edition & updates

 

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE

Expert understanding of complex international regulations transport and CLP. Ability to provide expert opinions on all cases coming up related to all international regulations of all modes of transport IATA, ADR, IMDG. Deep understanding of cosmetic compositions. Scientific understanding of physical/chemical data of raw materials. Expert knowledge to interpret data required along the DG regulations to correctly classify all mixtures. This also includes the technical review of automated classifications provided by the system to make meaningful adjustments where required.

SKILLS

Advanced level of English language skills in oral and written form to discuss all matters on DG and SDS with global partners, internally and externally. Additional languages spoken should be a plus. Advanced operating skills in IT systems such as MS office, especially Excel, SAP ECC, SAP RD and MSDS software Chemges. Excellent communication skills with international customers and problem-solving oriented action taking

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

Master in Chemistry or Licence Pro in Chemistry with 3  years’ experience. Qualification as Dangerous Safety Advisor is a plus Regulatory expertise or experience in cosmetic or perfumery field is a plus
