Your 'day to day'
As a Senior Scientist - Agronomy Research, you will support your colleagues acting as an internal expert in genetics applied to plant breeding and agronomy. You will use scientific knowledge to perform analyses and experiments, using appropriate analytical technologies and conduct research, development, and project activities. You will also participate in the crafting of project schedules, estimate test plans, and make recommendations for project research priorities.
More specifically, you'll
Conceive research activities and lead all stages of assigned research /scientific projects in the field of plant breeding and agronomyCoordinate the technical activities of multi-disciplinary or cross-functional participants: scoping, scheduling & budget and drive execution related to plansProvide guidance in project execution by analyzing genotyping data and field trial resultsAct as technical subject expert for certain aspects of projects/processes within the group. Ensure the dynamic progress of the laboratory by identifying and implementing innovative methodologies and technology improvements.Ensure adherence to business requirements and report progress against plans to internal or external partners
Who we’re looking for
Degree in Biostatistics, Biology and/or Agronomy (Master’s, PhD)Deep knowledge in quantitative genetics and association mapping and underlying mathematical theoryExperience in population genetics and genetic diversity analysisUnderstanding of practical and molecular breeding applicationsExperience with “omics” analysisExpertise in statistical analysis software (R or equivalent)Creative and innovative mindset. Agility in changing environment, collaborative spirit, effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in English, both written and oral
