The Senior Scheduler will be located on site in Port Colborne, Ontario for 18-24 months with eventual relocation to another project site or the Toronto based office. The Senior Scheduler reports directly to the Scheduling Manager.
The Senior Scheduler develops, coordinates, and monitors current resource loaded schedule against the approved baseline, as well as reviews variances, changes orders, and revises schedule for a recovery plan. Schedules will be prepared and maintained in Primavera P6, and the Senior Scheduler has strong proficiency in P6. The Senior Scheduler adheres to the client’s list of deliverables and milestones and may be responsible for a number of projects within their portfolio.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop new project scope development, procurement, construction, and commissioning in unification with subcontractors and project management teamMaintain ongoing project schedules by interfacing with Project Managers, Subcontractors, and Client to secure progress informationGenerate project schedules and associated cost/resource forecastsResource load schedules and produce resource histograms/graphsPerform resource-levelling to ensure constant resource utilizationCost and quantity load schedules for tracking/production rate reportsParticipate in meeting (as and when required) with Project Managers, Client, and SubcontractorsMaintain written notes and records which support project updates; also transfer the same to project notebookProvide information for preparation of meeting presentation materialWork within the standard planning/scheduling procedures; ensure that these procedures fulfill the requirements and develop additional project specific procedures where necessaryPrepare activity plans with the project teamAssist the project control team to establish a project performance indexTo plan, in conjunction with the Division Manager/Project Manager to assist in the execution of projects in accordance with Corporate PolicyTo provide technical and administrative support to the projects operations with emphasis on reporting, planning and monitoring progress, estimating and scheduling, and invoicingCompile list of deliverables and key milestonesConsult with supervisor to schedule work sites in a cost and time-efficient manner Meet regularly with supervisors to co-ordinate activities at project sitesPrepare and maintain various reports on the progress of work and materials usedProvide support to cost control, document control and change order controlReportsOngoing:Development of SchedulesUpdate cost Control Sheet WeeklyLook ahead schedulesProductivity reports -> project updates MonthlyAssistance with job invoicingWIP reports Project forecast, monthly reportsQuarterly progress reports Work with Project Management team, Planners and Estimators in development of project plans (costs, schedule, risk, scope and change management plans)Work with Project Management team in development projects internal controls processes and proceduresTrack and evaluate cost and schedule trends and variances and adjust forecasts as requiredConduct analysis and prepare progress reports on cost, schedule and riskSupport project close-out reporting and documentation activities as requiredOther duties as assignedCOMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree, diploma, designation, or related experienceWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
10–15 years of project controls experience for ICI construction projectsExperience on projects with high risk and complexityExperience in cost and schedule development and monitoring practices and proceduresExperience in relevant project controls softwareSKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Proven understanding of project management, engineering and construction processesStrong interpersonal, communication, organization and analytical skillsInitiative, motivated & self-driven to get the job doneExcellent knowledge of software planning tools including Primavera P6, MS Project & ExcelKnowledge of project management system interfaces, i.e., Planning Tool (MS Visio, MS Powerpoint, JD Edwards, Procore, etc.) in order to generate and develop project management reporting requirements, capable of controlling and monitoring project progress and expectations from start to finishHigh level organizational and planning skillsA good understanding of inter-relationship between planning/scheduling and cost managementPlease be advised that a Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.
