About the Team
At Workday, we have an exciting opportunity for a driven and inspiring leader to establish, ramp, and accelerate our talented India Sales Development (SDR & BDR) team, based in Mumbai.In addition to being an exceptional leader and developer of talent, the India Sales Development Manager will support their team to deliver high-quality pipeline to meet sales growth targets while creating a fun, progressive, and outcome-focused team culture. This team will be at the heart of Workday’s demand generation and business development activities across India, helping scale our presence in this dynamic and rapidly growing market. The Sales Development Manager reports directly to the APJ Sales Development Director and is part of an amazing global team of like-minded, talented, and driven demand generation professionals.

Leadership and the ability to energize and inspire this team will be key. Strong people management skills are also required to coach, guide, and lead the team to success.
About the Role
Your role as the India Sales Development Manager, based in Mumbai, will be pivotal in establishing, ramping, and accelerating our Sales Development team within this exciting and dynamic region. You will own and execute the Sales Development Go-to-Market (GTM) plan in close alignment with the region’s Field Sales strategy. This includes driving market coverage optimisation, maximising demand generation, penetrating key industries, and expanding targeted solutions to achieve quarterly pipeline generation goals while providing accurate pipeline forecasts. You will also lead the business management cadence, ensuring the right focus on activities, metrics, and outcomes to deliver consistent and predictable performance. In this role, you will work closely with Marketing, Field Sales, Sales Support, and Sales Operations to ensure strong interlock and high levels of stakeholder engagement.
As a people leader, you will hire, coach, mentor, and develop a team of highly talented business development professionals. This includes managing performance, creating career progression opportunities, and enabling the team to succeed in role while preparing them for future success across the organisation.
About You
What we are looking for
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong people management skills in coaching, driving performance, and developing talents
Strong communication capabilities with senior stakeholders in Sales, Marketing and Sales Operations
In depth knowledge of Salesforce.com and Outreach required
Recent successful experience and proven ability to develop a prospect pipeline via high volume outbound prospecting and engaging business executives in an enterprise software sales environment
Deep understanding of business processes
Solid knowledge of demand generation processes, Marketing planning & pipeline building
Experience working closely with Sales Operations and Marketing supporting Field Marketing activities within the territory, including webinars, trade shows, and demand generation campaigns
Experience in designing and implementing operational processes to optimize the return of marketing campaigns through an effective follow up
Strong Analytics Capabilities - Experience doing data analysis, modelling, and/or financial analysis to support or drive business decisions
