Role synopsis
This Senior Reservoir Engineering position supports one of the main Gulf of America’s producing fields. This position requires an applicant who shows strong technical skills and judgement, with a focused skill-set in water injection management and classical reservoir engineering analyses. In this role, there is an expectation of certain leadership skills such as influencing, integration and effective communication, with strong mentoring and coaching skills. This role is part of an integrated team of engineers and geoscientists.
The Sr. Reservoir Engineer will have a significant impact on the forward direction of the field and build the tools to assess depletion plan and project options. The work will enable the successful candidate to gain in-depth exposure to one of the most active and valuable regions in the bp portfolio.
Key Accountabilities & Essential Experience
Lead integrated efforts in reservoir development and water injection management through optimizing base performance, risk assessment, surveillance planning and analyses, maturing projects, and new well planning and supporting execution.Proficiency in reservoir management and development practices including reservoir performance prediction, production forecasting, field development planning, fluid properties, and reservoir surveillance.Resource estimation and reporting per requirements as well as identification, justification, and implementation of resource opportunities in producing assetsUncertainty and risk analyses with strong data integration skills to inform business decisionsAble to manage multiple activities and quickly respond to changing business priorities Able to cope with short-term deadlines and flexible prioritization acting as a squad lead or member as required Track record in coaching, mentoring, and building capability in others Excellent technical presentation and communication skills Excellent teamworkEssential Education
Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering or related engineering disciplineMinimum of 12 years reservoir engineering experiencebp does not offer sponsorship of employment-based nonimmigrant visa petitions for this roleDesirable criteria & qualifications
Advanced skills in all aspects of classical reservoir engineering techniques including:
Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA): analytical and numerical; multi-well analysis and deconvolution is desired.Rate Transient Analysis (RTA) including type curve modeling and flowing Material Balance.Numerical Modeling and prediction is desired.Material Balance techniquesDecline curve analysisBenchmarking skillsExperience in Water Injection development and waterflood performanceWhy join us!
