Fujitsu Research of America (FRA) is seeking a highly experienced and accomplished researcher to join our Pittsburgh Research office. This role focuses on advancing Fujitsu Social Digital Twin, a platform that digitally replicates relationships and interactions among people, goods, the economy, and society. The researcher will lead efforts to enhance the simulation and prediction in the transportation component of the platform. As a part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including external partners.
Job responsibilities:
Conduct cutting-edge research in one of the following fields: traffic simulation, transportation network modeling, or traffic prediction. Publish papers in top-tier conferences and journals in the fields of transportation, machine learning or artificial intelligence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct field trials and translate research into commercial applications. Work on joint research initiatives with university partners and Fujitsu's global research teams.Essential requirements:
PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field. Expert-level knowledge in one or more of the following areas: macroscopic, mesoscopic, or microscopic traffic simulation; traffic prediction; or multi-agent reinforcement learning, Strong track record of publishing research in top-tier journals in transportation. Experience implementing machine learning and deep learning algorithms. Proficiency in Python.Preferred requirements:
Expert knowledge in TensorFlow or PyTorch. Research experience in multi-modal traffic simulation. Experience working with large-scale transportation networks, geospatial data, and massive spatiotemporal datasets Experience prototyping applications based on research findings.Fujitsu salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each situation. The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $119,000 to $170,000 USD. Additionally, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
