UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Senior Research Associate to support the Kalinski Lab! This role will work with the development of new immunotherapies of cancer and monitoring of their effects in early phase clinical trials. This position will work Monday through Friday daylight hours. Travel is expected up to 20% of the time with this role. _Hours are subject to change based on business needs._ This position is grant funded. The Senior Research Associate conducts and manages independent research, assists with grant applications and manuscript preparation and trains research personnel. This role is responsible for supervising Research personnel. Responsibilities: + Develop research projects including protocol design, budget preparation and justification, data collection and analysis and data storage. + Supervise Research Associates, Research Assistants, Research Technicians, and monitors budgets. + Maintain and expand research expertise by acquiring new research techniques and keeping abreast of new knowledge. + Obtain approval for research projects from review committees. + Responsible for the planning of manuscript preparation. + Assist in the preparation and submission of grant applications including budget preparation and justification. + Master's degree in a basic science or clinical research area relevant to research activities to be performed, with at least three years experience + OR bachelor's degree in a basic science with at least five years experience working within a biomedical research environment, which would include coordinating and executing a research protocol including manuscript preparation. + At least 2 years experience working in academic biomedical research settings, and at least 12 moths experience in cGMP cell production preferred. Experience with long-term primary cell cultures, including T cells and dendrititc cells, primary human material, genomic and proteomic analysies, including Taqman, flow cytometry , Elisa and ELispot is preferred Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: * Act 34 UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran.
