KEMIN AquaScience – EMENA is seeking a Senior Research Associate.
We have an exciting opportunity for a (Senior) Research Associate to join the Kemin AquaScience team! This 2-year assignment offers a unique chance to contribute to innovative research in aquaculture nutrition, with a strong focus on fermentation processes and biochemical testing.
This role includes a collaborative research component with Ghent University, where part of the laboratory work and testing will be conducted. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about applied science and eager to work at the intersection of academia and industry.
The position is based in our HQ in Herentals, Belgium.

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
Design, execute, and analyze fermentation experiments to develop microbial-based ingredients for aquaculture.Conduct biochemical and microbiological tests, both in-house and in collaboration with Ghent University.Coordinate with academic partners to ensure alignment on experimental protocols and data sharing.Collaborate with internal teams including formulation, analytical services, and commercial units.Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to internal reports, publications, or patent applications. QualificationsWhat we are looking for
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field.Hands-on experience in fermentation processes, preferably in a research or industrial setting.Experience with aquaculture nutrition or aquatic species health is a strong plus.Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, spectrophotometry, and microbial culturing.Strong communication skills and ability to work across academic and industrial environments.Fluent English.
