Senior Reliability Engineer

To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for a **Senior Reliability Engineer** to join the team. **Responsibilities** + Owning/Executing critical Hardware remediations along the end-to-end hardware manufacturing spectrum working with stakeholders from Supply Chain, DC operations, Capacity Management and Engineering Groups. + Ability to influence partners, make key decisions pertaining to Hardware Quality escapes and develop a systematic mitigation plan to resolve quality issues. + A focus on identifying opportunities and tools that allow a reduction of manual work and automate process workflows. This includes integration with Copilot and AI forecast generation. + Ability to perform cost/time/risk tradeoff analysis while being customer centric and budget conscious. + Partner with Leadership and teams to create an inclusive environment that attracts and retains high-performing engineers. + Conduct in-depth data analysis to help derive insights and drive business decisions.   **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications:** + 12+ years relevant technical engineering experience + OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience + OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience + OR Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience. + 3+ years of working knowledge of disciplines across data center, supply chain, and server/rack hardware quality. + 5+ years in the Server Hardware industry. **Other Requirement** : + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience working in the end-to-end Server Hardware Quality space from System Integrators to Data Center Operations. + Experienced written and verbal communication skills with executives, peers, partners (internal and external) alike. + Experience with hardware, firmware, software interfaces across all modules in a system. + Ability to write/run Kusto/SQL queries, Python or basic coding knowledge, PowerBI. + Understanding and ability to read/write/review code. + Ability to work on complex issues that span geos, provide clear & crisp communication to stakeholders. Reliability Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
