Rabobank’s Financial Restructuring team, part of our Line 2 Risk Management division is seeking an experienced professional to join us as a Senior Relationship Manager. Reporting to the Head of Financial Restructuring you will join a highly engaged team.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for the management & work-out of Wholesale & Country Banking clients across Australia who are experiencing financial difficulties or are in default. You will navigate complex situations that that require strategic thinking, resilience, & an ability to negotiate with both clients & stakeholders. Whether it’s working through sensitive financial restructures or leading legal recovery processes, your focus will be on delivering effective solutions.
Top Role Accountabilities:Working with clients & Account Managers to achieve, where possible, an agreed restructuring/recovery strategyReviewing client-related documentation, including Banking Code of Practice correspondence & other relevant correspondenceReviewing & commenting on requests received in relation to a clientManaging other stages of workouts including, Farm Debt Mediation, assets sales & debt reduction programsLiaising with external parties such as lawyers & insolvency professionals such as receivers & accountantsLiaising with stakeholders within the Risk Division as well as other Divisions within the Bank to provide timely, appropriate updates on the management of problem loansPreparing reviews & applications in conjunction with the Country Banking or Wholesale transaction teams. Providing credit decisions where appropriate under the Bank’s delegation policyPreparing & compiling key reporting documents for internal stakeholders, including Management Committee reports, Utrecht reporting, Credit Committee papers, & provisioning recommendationsTo be successful you will have:At minimum of 5 years’ experience gained in a financial institution or reputable insolvency practiceExperience in problem management & insolvency procedures within a complex environmentExtensive knowledge of insolvency procedures (particularly recovery proceedings) & problem loan managementDetailed understanding of legislative obligations (e.g. FDMA) as well as industry codes (e.g. BCOP) as well as key TCF concepts in workout situations including (but not limited to) hardship & vulnerabilityAn exposure to lending in Rural/Agricultural or Middle Market / Corporate Commercial sectors highly regardedAbility to influence internal & external stakeholders to communicate loan management strategies effectively & obtain the participation & endorsement of those parties in achieving the desired outcomes for the BankExcellent written, verbal & interpersonal communication skillsStrong negotiation skillsAbility to handle difficult situations with sensitivity & tactOur ValuesRabobank Australia values inclusion, belonging, & positive experiences for all.
