We are seeking for a motivated and energetic individual to join our Company as Sr. Reinsurance Claims Examiner, based in Miami, FLor San Paulo Brazil. This position is intended to support Everest Re’s continuing expansion in international facultative reinsurance. The appointment will reinforce our commitment to providing clients and distribution partners with best-in-class claims solutions. The candidate will have multiple claims responsibilities including but not limited to investigating, evaluating, and resolving property and casualty claims and provide oversight to TPA adjusters with certain degree of latitude for independent judgment. As well as managing a broad claims portfolio, the successful candidate will assist with the training and development of the wider claims team. The role requires an innovative and inquisitive mindset to contribute to the continuous improvement of our working practices and to add to our analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Adjust reinsurance claims within policy terms and market business practices, in line with Everest Re policy and designated handling authority.
Contribute to the development of the claims function.
Managing and directing adjusters, appraisers, experts, and other vendors in accordance with our guidelines.
Liaise, collaborate, and develop relationships with our internal and external clients on all claim matters associated with assigned accounts.
Work closely with the Miami based treaty claims team, the International claims team and within the broader global reinsurance claims division.
Support the Underwriting team in market studies, client visits and claim audits.
Participate in due diligences as part of a cross-functional transaction team.
Travel may be required.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree required with advanced degree and insurance/reinsurance designations preferred.
3-5 years of commercial insurance or reinsurance property/casualty claim-related experience preferred.
Claim reinsurance technical or audit experience preferred.
Capable of working independently as part of a broader integrated claims team.
Leadership qualities.
Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
Engagement in continuous personal and professional development activities including but not limited to undertaking relevant exams (ARe, CPCU, etc).
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:The successful candidate will work directly with the Miami / International Claims team and must thrive in a dynamic, small team environment while being capable of working effectively within a larger, multinational environment.
Broad facultative cross class claims handling experience preferred.
Experience handling large, complex claims particularly financial lines and in energy and heavy industries preferred.
Experience using P2P messaging systems preferred.
Superior oral and written communication skills including the ability to concisely present a set of complex facts, provide analysis and make recommendations.
Bilingual, English and Spanish required; Portuguese is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Access) is required.
