UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Senior Professional Staff Nurse to support Gynecology Specialties!

Our nurses work as part of a care team with physicians, APPs, Preop and Postop nurses.  This fosters long term relationships with patients which can be very rewarding.  This nursing position will be to support chemotherapy patients at in-clinic appointments, teaching appointments and telephonic triage.  The nurse will manage the orders, side effects, complications and scheduling of treatments and testing.  The nurse will work closely with the nurses in the Women’s Cancer Center where the patients get their treatments.  This is a position where multi-tasking is a necessity.

This position will work daylight 4 ten hour shifts. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

The Senior Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse is a member of the care delivery team. The Senior Professional Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members.
Responsibilities:

Demonstrates accountability for professional development that improves the quality of professional practice and the quality of patient care. Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families. Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles and applies in teaching of patients, families, students and new staff. Formulates goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner. Actively participates in department or practice-specific quality improvement efforts.
