You will work with multi-discipline engineering project teams engaged in the design and engineering of upgrades and modifications to new and existing nuclear power plants in the following areas:
Radiological dose calculationsRadiation source term calculationsRadiation monitoring system design
In addition, you will:
Work on both domestic and international nuclear power plant projectsTravel to client offices and plant site locations to attend project progress meetings; travel may involve both domestic and international travel to Euro.pe, Asia, and the Middle EastPerform site walk-downsAddress emergent issues and provide technical support to clientsQualifications

Essential skills and experience:
BS or MS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited programA minimum of 7 years of experience with radiation monitoring systems including types of radiation detectors and their operation, signal processing, and mechanical/electrical interfaces with plant systemsExperience with the calibration and detection capability of radiation monitoring systems including primary calibrations, secondary/transfer calibrations, energy calibrations, energy response characteristics, and reference isotopesWorking knowledge of NRC regulations and guidance that apply to licensing and license renewal of nuclear power plantsExperience with some or all of the following computer programs:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsPE license desired, but not required Award-Winning BenefitsAt Sargent & Lundy, we care about the health and well-being of our employees.
