Senior R&D Software Manager
**In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + **Lead and grow a high-impact internal DevOps squad** , starting with 3 engineers and scaling in size over time, focused on delivering robust, scalable software and infrastructure that enhances the value of systems and hardware. + **Foster a DevOps culture** by enabling the team to adopt and evolve practices such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), automated testing, and monitoring within their workflows. + **Oversee end-to-end project execution** , from concept through deployment and operations, balancing hands-on involvement with strategic delegation. + **Collaborate closely with internal partners** —including Hardware, Software, Support, and Manufacturing—to understand their needs and empower their success through reliable, flexible, and scalable automated testing infrastructure. + **Work effectively with teams across different geographies and time zones** , building strong relationships, ensuring alignment, and maintaining momentum across distributed collaboration efforts. + **Drive project planning and execution** , understanding the priorities and impact of multidisciplinary internal client teams, proactively engaging the right stakeholders, and aligning resources to deliver measurable client value. + **Promote a culture of operational excellence** , with a strong focus on system reliability, observability, and continuous improvement. + **Mentor and develop engineering talent** , encouraging a growth mindset and supporting career development as the team expands. + **Communicate effectively with stakeholders** , including product managers, technical leaders, and senior leadership, to align on priorities and shape the evolution of our software and infrastructure strategy. **Who you are:** You are a people-focused engineering leader with strong software and DevOps knowledge. You build high-performing teams and thrive in collaborative, cross-functional settings. Proactive and adaptable, you balance execution with long-term vision. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + B.S. or M.S. in electronics engineering, computer science, or computer engineering. + 5-7 years of experience as a software engineer, plus 1-2 years of experience managing a team. + Demonstrated understanding with the following technologies/concepts: + Scripting languages such as Python + Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) + Version Control & Collaboration + Testing Frameworks & Environments + Agile and Waterfall Project Management + Experience in the following areas will be an added advantage: + DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Monitoring, and Automation + Containerization and Orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) + Monitoring and Observability tools and strategies + Strong grasp of software development lifecycles, and modern infrastructure practices + Experience in leading the team to deliver project specs and deadlines. + Familiarity with building and supporting internal tools or testing ecosystems that serve cross-functional engineering teams. + Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, plan effectively, and align resources to deliver value to internal stakeholders. **Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:** + Clear and effective communication.
