The Senior R&D Scientist will initiate, coordinate, and implement new product initiatives on new and existing products. The Senior R&D Scientist ensures R&D responsibilities are aligned with various areas of the business such as procurement, quality assurance, production, marketing, as well as suppliers and customers. Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM. This role is 100% on-site in Greendale, Indiana. Catalent is committed to a Patient First culture through excellence in quality and compliance, and to the safety of every patient, consumer and Catalent employee. **The Role** + Formulate and create bench top samples for presentation to inside and outside customers, while maintaining awareness of current plant process capabilities + Responsible for selection and evaluation of raw materials; understand impact of raw materials on product behavior + Work to acquire the right material at the right cost for product success + Responsible for creation of appropriate nutritional and label information; responsible for interpretation of data from experiments/analyses to solve problems and improve efficiency + Lead plant line trials and production start-ups; lead first production initiatives and monitor product performance over shelf life; lead troubleshooting and recommendation/ modifications to existing product formula’s and/or processes to improve productivity, quality, and/or product cost. + Mentor junior scientists + Represent the Company when interacting with customers; support Sales and Marketing channels with customer presentations.
