OverviewPurpose: Perform standardized product and packaging testing in development of consumer packaging E2E. Use test methods based on industry standards to assure quality and compliance of brand product goals.
Scope: Manage all commercialization testing for relative brand(s) and communicate results to various cross functional partners while meeting established timelines to ensure a successful product launch. Responsibility includes testing for product stability, compatibility, and packaging.
Accountability: Report directly to the Director– R&D Testing Lab. Indirectly work with Product Development / Package Engineering / Quality Assurance / Research and Development within BBW and third party vendors.
Desired Outcomes:
Thorough evaluation of every consumer product and package to ensure functionality, performance, and usage.Maintenance of SAP PLM and data systemsAssure all PDR / packaging requests are placed on test.Build external vendor relationships as well as internal cross functional relationshipsResponsibilitiesLeads testing for designated area may be Brand, PKG or Stability focusedLeads testing of medium – high complexity such as complicated package designs or Innovations projects.Sets priorities as needed for all testing.Proposes new testing protocols based on business needs.Attends Commercialization meetings based on R&D/PKG support neededFollow-up w/contract manufacturers, internal cross functional teamsLeads investigation of testing lab failures and works with cross-functional teams in developing solutionsDetermine if bridging is feasible through cross functional alignmentMay work as a testing technical liaison with the Innovations Team as neededTechnology lead and trains junior team members on methods and product knowledgeResearches new test methodologies and equipment and recommends for adoption.May have Value Engineering or other key initiative responsibilitiesMaintains an audit and calibration program with vendorMay have one to two direct reportsQualifications4-7 years related experience in testing, QA, or R&DAbility to work under pressure and implement to timelines.Strong organizational and communication skills to ensure all relative responsibilities are addressed and maintained according to established timelines.Proficiency in PC Skills in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, and Power Point.Solid understanding of Technical Systems and Data Management Skills.EducationTechnical degree or equivalent experience in related field; BS in science / engineering or related degree preferred; may have advanced degreeCore Competencies
