Position Overview:

A Senior Quality Specialist within the OPS department is responsible for directing the work of employees within the area and facilitate open communication within the department.  This position must be prepared and able to perform all the functions within the area as needed, with a focus on meeting production needs.  This work is in a clean room environment where attention to detail, a focus on safety and quality as well as an ability to strive for continuous improvement are crucial.  

Responsibilities and Duties: 

Directs the work of employees within the area, ensuring the correct work instructions are being followed and continuous workflow is maintained Ability to train new employees on Production Testing processes and computer skills, and provide ongoing coaching to all employees within the area Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department (through 5S+1 as well as other improvement initiatives), including Gemba walks, value stream mapping and kaizen activities as well as audits. Interacts with engineering to facilitate rework and implementation of new products Monitors process inspection and testing queues with a focus on level loading Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices Maintains a good safety record, has a working knowledge of the behavioral based safety initiatives and accepts the responsibility to communicate unsafe situations Adheres to the safety and quality standards (goals and metrics) of the organization while working within a team environment Maintains timely and accurate production reports, checklists and other documentation Provides effort in all levels of work tasks, including highly technical job functions as well as cleaning the work area as needed Responds to multiple production assignments in a timely and efficient manner Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance is required. Take assignments directly from the area supervisor on meeting targets and production goals. To become an active member of the “QRT natural team” and participate in problem-solving initiatives, working with both manufacturing and engineering personnel. Other duties as assigned
