Location:

The Senior Quality Engineer, Thin Films is an on-site role located in Tamaqua, PA.  Occasional domestic and international travel about 10% is required to meet business needs

 

Your Role:

The Senior Quality Engineer, Thin Films will work to ensure excellence with thin films materials for major semiconductor customers globally. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to resolve technology issues, investigating root causes, and implementing preventive actions for world-class quality. As the voice of the customer, you will support the Site Quality Manager in enhancing quality performance and driving continuous improvement through process control tools and automation initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead teams in the execution and quality of thin films materials to major semiconductor customers globallyLead cross-functional teams in resolving technology issuesLead investigations to root cause and manage cross-functional teams in implementation of preventative/corrective or mitigation actions to ensure world-class quality.Be the voice of the customer to the siteSupport the Site Quality manager in maintaining Thin Films quality performance and efforts toward continuous improvement.Ensure discipline to process controls tools to ensure (e.g. SPC reviews) quality, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and variation reduction.Identify and enable automation activities to make decisions faster and improve visibility to unknown variable/issuesBe key voting member to disposition discrepant material, identifying gaps in the process, and managing cross-functional teams to implement controls to prevent/reduce variationLead, engage, and support audits of the sites processing and quality systemsContribute to the advancement of global quality related projects and process improvements with Lean and/or Six Sigma or data-driven process optimization projects.  

 

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or other Technical discipline with 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process engineering, control engineering, analytical chemist, or semiconductor fabrication experience

OR

Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or other Technical discipline with 3+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process engineering, control engineering, analytical chemist, or semiconductor fabrication experienceExperience support quality initiatives or programs in a semiconductor, chemical production or similar manufacturing industry. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to motivate others and work collaboratively with multiple internal stakeholdersDemonstrated success in contributing to the advancement of projects, project teams, and process improvementsDemonstrated experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma projects or in data-driven process optimization projectsExcellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple activities and projects.Moderate to Advanced Statistical knowledge (SPC, t-test, ANOVA, single and multivariate statistical modelling)Experience in quality tools for problem solving (5-Whys, segmentation, Model Based Problem Solving), FMEAs, continuous improvement (CI) activities, management of change, and document control systems.Proficient with data science/statistical software including JMP, Palantir Foundry, Python, and/or visualization tools such as TableauExperience with process improvement, data automation, and data digitization.Excellent communication skills – oral and written in more than native language, English, and moreAbility to work with people from various backgrounds/culturesExperience within Electronics industry (preferably in semiconductors)American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other relevant certificationExperience with ISO9001 Quality Management SystemsISO9001 or IATF 16949 Internal Auditor CertificationSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certificationSAP experience
