Senior Quality Engineer, Automation (74539)

As the Senior Quality Engineer, Automation, you will work closely with engineers and team members across the world to help drive strategy and direction for company initiatives. You will write well-packaged code for web-based testing to support the rapid growth of our business to exceed our customers’ expectations. Additionally, your expertise will help shape our API testing strategy ensuring our composable components work seamlessly together while maintaining high quality standards.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Creation:

Help drive strategy and direction of major initiatives through your expertise Design and implement automated API tests to support our transition to a composable infrastructure Work in partnership with software engineers, testers and product managers to create new tests to the specifications of new features before release to production website Leverage organizational relationships to better plan and position the team to achieve goals

Testing:

Communicate effectively with manager, team and peers to deliver value according to the strategy and roadmap effectively with high quality output Increase regression test coverage by adding new automated tests while maintaining existing testing Apply abstraction techniques, design principles and architectural code design daily to further a well-established testing repo Regularly evaluate and implement new automation tools and technologies to improve testing efficiency and coverage, particularly in API testing Maintain CI/CD integrations between automated tests, Testrail and AWS Track test coverage and key performance metrics Log and prioritize bugs as they are found

Continuous Improvement:

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA processes Ensure repeatability and reliability  of automated tests across all environments and integrations Advocate for quality while continuing to push for innovation as business needs dictate

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, related field or equivalent experience Minimum 5+ years of total experience in software engineering or quality assurance  Minimum 3 years of automation experience (crafting your own automation framework, supporting existing automation framework) 3+ years of experience in Python using tools such as Pytest, Selenium, SeleniumBase or Playwright Experience with API testing including using tools such as Python Requests package, Postman, Bruno or similar Intimate knowledge of advanced coding standards Experience using GitHub

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

Familiarity with JSON/XML data formats Knowledge and application of both object oriented and functional design principles Knowledge of Salesforce, ContentStack, BlueConic or TalonOne Familiarity with Jira, TestRail and AWS Knowledge of PyCharm/IntelliJ, HTML, CSS, Bash, JavaScript and React Experience in performance testing such as Locust or JMeter Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively Strong organizational and incident management skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and develop new skills Proactive and flexible Effective problem solver
