Senior Proposal Engineer - Renewables

We are looking to add a Senior Proposal Engineer - Renewables to the team.    This position can sit in one of our following offices: Boulder, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL, Cranberry Township, PA, Detroit, MI, Houston, TX, Marshalltown, IA, Riverside, CA, Round Rock, TX, San Diego, CA, San Francisco, CA, Shakopee, MN, or Warren, NJ.   You will own the creation of highly competitive and strategic proposals for North America renewable energy control systems. You will have accountability to design solutions from both a technical and commercial perspective, encompassing written proposals and accompanying cost estimates. Emerson’s five decades of power and water expertise embedded within the Ovation™ distributed control system (DCS) forms a reliable and innovative platform that evolves with rapidly changing technology to help improve plant reliability.   In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Develop a foundation of engineering, automation, networking, and business skills. Ensure that all aspects of proposal preparation are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Prepare control system proposals in response to customer requests, including interpretation of specifications and drawings. Create best-cost solutions to meet customer needs. Effectively present costs, risks, and differentiators to key decision makers. Review purchase orders to ensure they accurately reflect our proposed scope. Provide support in the development of the commercial proposal strategy that mitigates project commercial risk exposure and best positions the execution team to allow scope and profitability growth. Coordinate the efforts of a global team of engineers and subject-matter experts to contribute to proposal development. Who You Are:

For This Role, You Will Need: BS in Engineering or similar technical focus Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience; 10+ years preferred Experience in the solar, battery storage (BESS), hydro, and/or wind industries Experience with control systems (PLC/DCS/SCADA)  Experience with writing proposals and developing cost estimates Ability to travel up to 10% Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering is preferred Our Culture & Commitment to You:

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $110,000-150,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.​
