Senior Property Accountant
Job Summary
Senior Property Accountant to provide comprehensive accounting and financial reporting support for a portfolio of commercial properties in New York, serving as a key member of the property management team.
Properties Managed
Portfolio includes commercial office properties, mixed-use buildings, and condominiums with diverse ownership structures and reporting requirements.
Principal Accountabilities
Perform monthly financial reporting processes for multiple properties with varying deadlinesPrepare and analyze monthly variance reports with property managementCoordinate client meetings and update financial portions of meeting agendasProcess and review accounts payable, ensuring proper coding and approvalsManage accounts receivable, including rent statement preparation and distributionCreate and distribute monthly funding requests to ownershipCoordinate with property management on accruals and year-end closingsPrepare and file tax documentation including sales tax returnsManage annual escalation calculations and reconciliations (CAM, RE Tax)Support annual budget preparation and quarterly reforecastsServe as primary financial contact for clients and property management teamTrain and mentor junior accounting staff on processes and softwareQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance7+ years of real estate accounting experienceAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency with real estate accounting softwareStrong knowledge of commercial real estate billing practices and escalationsCompetencies
