Senior Project Manager (Enterprise Business Systems)

Overview We are seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager IT in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for managing large projects including development and maintenance of project plans and reporting of project status. Drives accountability from project team members and serves as a subject matter expert in project management process improvements. Essential Functions Manages large projects with multiple, disparate stakeholders Develops and maintains complex project plans that involve tasks of multiple participants and stakeholders Provides project status and summary to wide audiences, including senior management Identifies interdependencies in programs and serves as the go-to person for project management Leads project management process improvement efforts Participate in project definition activities, including feature analysis and system tradeoffs Provides reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, including evaluation of new technologies to improve existing functions Serves as a mentor to less experienced Project Managers (Project Manager 1 & 2) Understands business impacts of issues and how they relate to IT owned solutions Demonstrates broad understanding of Garmin’s business model, including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales & Marketing Development and maintenance of all project documentation Motivates and drives accountability from all project team members, including the coordination of resources assigned to projects for which he/she is responsible without direct authority Resolves conflicts with little assistance Contributes to advanced technical research on new technologies and determines the feasibility of team or functional goals/objectives Attends and actively participates in department and facility meetings and classes. Encourages teams to utilize creative and innovative approaches to accomplish tasks. Demonstrates commitment to quality through knowledge of its precepts, skillful workplace applications, and continuous organizational improvement. Demonstrates responsibility for personal development, professional growth, and continuing education Gives and receives feedback in a constructive manner Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another substantially similar field AND a minimum of 5 years work experience performing a substantially similar role OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Experience with enterprise business systems Demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge Demonstrates mastery of project management principles and adapts practices to meet rapidly changing business climates and needs Demonstrated experience and a proven track record in the successful implementation of technology solutions Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills in a large team or departmental setting Must be detail-oriented and can work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision Ability to prioritize and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced and changing environment Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems Excellent time management and follow-up skills Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality Desired Qualifications Experience with Oracle Application Modules (e.g. Financials, OM, HRMS, Purchasing etc.) Experience with and understanding of ERP/EDI concepts and processes Experience successfully coordinating large scale globally based projects to move, add, and/or change aforementioned underlying technologies. Familiarity with database systems and large-scale application lifecycle management Experience with release processes and SDLC Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Information Technology Information Library (ITIL), or other regulatory issues Experience with automated testing tools and testing procedures Experience with and understanding of web-based concepts and processes Strong understanding of Infrastructure and Security concepts and processes Familiarity with and demonstrated understanding of IT Service Management Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
