Senior Project Manager - Energy & Power (London, UK)

We have a specific opportunity for an experienced senior project manager, who carries design development, owners engineer and EPC experience to join our team and work on a variety of power and energy transition projects across our UK and International regions. Projects will include a mix of all power generation and decarbonisation technologies that form part of the UK pathway to 2050 Net Zero and will be direct to demand (OnSite) or direct to grid-connected solutions. Typically, these include key technologies such as BESS, PowerGen and Distributed Heat and Power. This role will be responsible for execution in line with the Burns & McDonnell project execution systems and processes in the UK and building on the strong capability from the US. Vital skills and qualities will include excellent collaboration, broad experience across power and energy sectors, building trusted value chain relationships, supporting managing be responsible for managing our supply chain partners, winning work activity, as well as overseeing project delivery from a clean sheet of paper to on-site construction. This role will be a key part of our UK team, bringing experience in managing the execution of projects across Utilities, Private Developers and other client groups. The key tasks and responsibilities are as follows: Key Technical Responsibilities + Lead on all aspects of safety and CDM compliance and understanding for projects in your portfolio. + Manage and coordinate all aspects of project execution for Design and Delivery projects across the UK. + Responsible for the profit and loss of individual projects, the successful completion of projects within specified dates, and establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the client, contractors and project stakeholders. + Lead the preparation of proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations. + Provide overall project management of projects from concept to completion, including coordinating the work of the support teams in estimating, engineering and procurement. The role will lead value engineering and constructability reviews, provide construction management oversight, including project controls. + Drive project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs. + Lead project resourcing and contractor and supply chain management. + Manage internal project financials, resourcing, legal coordination, and risk management. + Serve as the primary point of contact with clients regarding all aspects of the Burns & McDonnell project delivery. + Support development and implementation of UK-specific project policies and procedures, project controls systems and project execution plans. + Confirm deliverables and services are being provided to the client’s satisfaction. + Report regularly on progress, cost and schedule, procurement, safety, environmental, other risk and any issues requiring office support. + Other duties, as assigned. Functional responsibilities + Help to build a world-class project management capability in UKO and assist in recruiting project staff as we grow the business. + Develop bid stage technical solutions with partners and the engineering team. + Interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues to achieve project objectives. + Able to manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines. + Will recognise the requirement and have the flexibility to meet the needs of a rapidly growing business. + Able to work autonomously and as part of a project team. + Ongoing development of industry relationships to assist with future project delivery, development of future project opportunities, and Burns & McDonnell brand recognition. + Personal professional development and partaking in professional bodies and industry groups + Mentoring of others within the team. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related degree/international qualification. + Minimum of 7 years of electrical engineering experience. Owners Engineer and EPC project experience preferred. + Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement + Chartered status preferred + Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design Standards. Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite). + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Experience with leading large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. + Ability to lead the execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment. + Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment. + Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills. + Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications. + Ability to travel. **Job** Project Management **Primary Location** GB-London, UK-London **Schedule:** Full-time **Travel:** Yes, 20 % of the Time **Req ID:** 252955 **Job Hire Type** Experienced #LI-JA #UKO
