What's the opportunity?

The Risk Reduction and Strategic Execution team is part of the RBC Enterprise Control’s Office an RBC cross enterprise function is designed to unify and strengthen First Line of Defense (1LOD) risk activities across all Business Units (BUs) and Functions, driving consistency and bolstering control practices.  The Risk Reduction and Strategic Execution is a new mandate focused being a trusted advisor to 1LOD risk managers by developing, implementing, and training on a proactive, standardized, scalable process management discipline that empowers the bank to reduce risk and execute processes consistently and independently to drive business improvement and deliver on strategic objectives and responsible for ensuring execution of RBC’s enterprise (Board, COE and Group Executive) initiatives meet outcomes, on time, on budget across multiple platforms. Working within a high-performance area of the bank, the team provides opportunities for skill development, career advancement, and the chance to work on the bank’s most ambitious initiatives.

What will you do?

Plan and execute projects with high level of complexity and uncertainty.  Oversee project operating procedures, monitoring the productivity and performance of project team.Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on timelines, budget and resourcing.Develop, manage and ensure adherence to project schedules and completion of project goals.Raise and track risks, issues and conflicts, remove barriers.  Resolve minor project risks, issues and escalate them where appropriate.Manage project communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business partners, vendors and project team. Including the effective management of project management repositories.Facilitate Project Sponsor awareness of changes being introduced into the organization by the project and appropriately manage organizational change management.Establish strong working relationships across platform teams to build influence and impact with key business partners.Set up appropriate governance and oversight of all projects, ensuring project follow established Project Management standards.

What you need to succeed?

Must have

5+ years’ progressive business project-related experienceAdvanced project management knowledge including project plan development; scheduling capabilities; project metrics gathering, analyzing, and reporting; risk and issue management; cost/benefit analysis.  Proficient in MS Suites including MS Project.Able to manage ambiguity and navigate challenging situations effectivelyExcellent verbal, written communication, analytical and problem-solving skillsGrowth mindset, proactively seek out industry trends and organizational practices to explore alternative approaches and/or solutions

Nice-to-have

Experience with Iterative Waterfall, Agile, Kanban delivery methodologiesInternal Audit experience an assetPMP certification or equivalent (preferred)
