Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure that the activities related to engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by providing technical support to commissioning and start-up activities.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation in Energy Industries division based out in Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams across Oil, Gas, and Chemical projects, ensuring effective execution and high technical standards.Translate project and customer requirements into tailored engineering solutions and detailed execution plans.Provide end-to-end technical leadership from system design through FAT/SAT, commissioning, and customer handover.Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and ABB’s internal quality and safety protocols.Coordinate with stakeholders including clients, project managers, engineering, and procurement for smooth and cost-effective delivery.Manage technical risks and drive efficiency through best practices and digital engineering tools like simulations and virtual FAT platforms.Mentor and support engineering talent, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)10–15 years of engineering experience in the Oil, Gas, and Chemical industries, with strong process knowledge.Proven track record of leading large-scale DCS-based automation projects from design through commissioning.Familiarity with ABB Engineering Tools, Smart Engineering, or other auto-generation platforms.Knowledge of virtual FAT tools, remote support platforms, and digital twin concepts.Strong practical knowledge and project experience in DCS/PLC/SCADA systems, including ABB 800xA, AC800M, and Advant Controllers.Hands-on experience in design, integration, testing, and commissioning of control systems in Oil, Gas, and Chemical environments.Serve as the technical focal point for the customer, internal teams, and vendors.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project teams, ensuring compliance with best practices.Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or a related field.
