This senior project manager plans, monitors and manages major internal projects, often for global venues, from initiation through completion. The project manager also secures required resources, and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks and changes. He or she manages complex projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs. At this career level, the incumbent generally large, complex projects for multiple regions or countries, and often coaches and oversees the work of other project managers and related staff.

Responsibilities

Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.The primary purpose of this senior professional includes using discretion and judgement to lead project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management on extensive, multi-phase projects.This senior incumbent effectively uses structured project governance systems for monitoring and tracking deliverables and resolving complex issues, ensuring delivery of major projects to the plan and budget.The project manager applies high level professional project management skills to plan, monitor and manage major, complex projects with a high number of extremely skilled experts, from initiation through completion. This includes developing assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project.The incumbent ensures critical progress reporting, troubleshooting and people management. This generally includes, recruiting or screening, organizing, motivating, and directing team members, and ensuring that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time.The project manager monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions.This senior incumbent ensures project results meet the highest requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.The incumbent coaches and provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the project management discipline.

CultureAccountable for supporting, upholding, and engaging in Compassion's core "Cultural Behaviors" in all internal and external communication and relationships. QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a related field.Ten years  of relevant experience  in child development, community development, or related sectorsActive member of a local church, with a strong passion for serving churches and children's ministryDemonstrated experience working with NGOs/INGOs operating along the Thai–Myanmar border is highly preferredUnderstanding of the Thai–Myanmar border context, including local church dynamics across the border and relevant social and community issuesProven project management skills, including planning, implementation, budgeting, and reportingStrong abilities in communication, partnership development, and team leadershipProficiency in Thai and English (both written and spoken)Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field.
