Position Summary

The Project Engineering position focuses on designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing an engineering-based project. A Senior Professional position applies advanced knowledge of a job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

ResponsibilitiesLeads projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervisionCoaches and reviews the work of lower level professionalsSupports continuous improvement/automation activitiesPrepares project plans, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, transportation, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new project deliverablesMonitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delaysIdentifies, develops, and gathers the resources necessary to complete the projectMay include preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractorsSupports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholdersSupports continuous improvement/automation activitiesMinimum QualificationsTypically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
