Senior Project Controls Analyst

Job Summary:
Westat is currently seeking a Senior Project Control Analyst. The Project Control team provides a full range of project financial management and oversight acting as business financial advisors and strategic partners. The team regularly reviews reports, highlights and addresses project financial and Estimate-At-Completion (EAC)/budget concerns with project owners. Project Control consolidates project financials at the practice and sector levels in preparation for review by corporate management as part of the company’s standard review process.

This role is based out of Rockville, Maryland (and Bethesda starting in the Fall of 2025) and will be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement requiring 1-2 days onsite each week.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for accuracy in financial reporting for cost, revenue and profitability internally to the division and finance department, as well as externally to the client(s) in accordance with contractual obligations.Oversee development of budgets for program teams that align to contractual requirements, proposal and program WBS.Responsible for accuracy of financial reporting to client and Practice Areas.Effective communication skills with respect to identifying and explaining financial risks/implications of project management decisions.Review, validate and report project actual costs incurred for labor, expenses and travel.Work with Program Team to collect bottom-up financial forecasts/Estimate to complete and enter into Program Financial Management Tool.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of experience in Project Controls, experience with forecast, control, and report project cost needed within an organization.Experience with Deltek Costpoint and TM1 or similar project forecasting tools.Develop and provide variances, trending, and analysis of expenditures, and completion reports.Skilled with Excel for data manipulation and analysis such as pivot tables, lookups, etc.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with government contract financial management particularly with HHS (Health and Human Services) and/or Education.Supervisory experience.
