Senior Project and Technical Accountant
**Mission:** The Senior Project and Technical Accountant is responsible for overseeing complex project accounting activities and ensuring compliance with US GAAP. This role is also responsible for reviewing all material and complex contracts and making ASC 606 determinations, including working with corporate office. This role supports financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting for large-scale projects, and serves as a key liaison between finance, project management teams and corporate accounting. **Company:** Mott is a technology driven, high precision filtration company trusted by the world’s best technical and performance brands across four core markets: Medicine, Computing Power, Clean Energy, and Space Exploration. Our products can be found everywhere…including lifesaving medical devices, artificial intelligence, and missions to Mars! **Key Responsibilities:** + Develop and maintain detailed project budgets with project managers to support accurate financial results and forecasts. + Partner with corporate accounting to compliance with ASC 606. + Track actual project costs against budgeted figures and report variances. + Monitor project cash flow and funding requirements. + Analyze cost drivers and recommend cost-saving opportunities. + Review and validate project-related invoices and purchase orders. + Ensure accurate allocation of costs to appropriate projects and cost centers. + Conduct margin analysis and profitability assessments + Partner with project managers to review financial performance and risks. + Present financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership. + Coordinate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to align project goals. **Major Challenges:** + **Complexity of Operations:** Managing financial results and forecasts for many projects across multiple business units. + **Data Accuracy and Integration:** Ensuring the accuracy and integration of financial data from diverse sources and systems. + **Stakeholder Expectations:** Balancing the needs and expectations of various stakeholders. + **Rapid Change:** Adapting to rapid changes in the business environment and market conditions, and adjusting financial plans accordingly. + **Resource Constraints:** Managing limited resources while striving to achieve ambitious financial goals and objectives. **Expected Performance Outcomes:** + **Project Accuracy:** Achieve a monthly project cost accuracy rate of at least 98%. + **Project Forecasting** : Provide weekly financial forecasting with 95% accuracy rate for all project related deliverables **.** + **Accurate and Timing Financial Closing** : Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports are delivered within the established deadlines, with zero delays. + **ASC 606:** Research and work with corporate accounting to provide ASC 606 outcomes in accordance with GAAP. **Technical Knowledge/Skills:** + Extensive knowledge with ASC 606. + Strong understanding of project accounting + Experience with Oracle Netsuite ERP a plus. + Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data. **Required Experience:** + Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred. + Public accounting experience preferred + Minimum of 5 years of experience working with project accounting. + Proven track record of delivering accurate and timely results. + Experience in a public company environment preferred. **Personal Attributes** + Strategic Thinking + Leadership and Team Development + Financial Acumen + Communication and Influence + Analytical Rigor + Results Orientation IDEX is an Equal Opportunity Employer .
